LAST FRIDAY: Lucky Oceans came ‘Down From The Mountain’ and up the stairway to heaven to this gig on Friday to play with The Collingwood Casanovas and King Arthur. When these musicians hit the stage it was hard to look away. All these guys and gals can pick and play like the best of them ,with the big added bonus of 2 times Grammy award winning legend Lucky Oceans lending them some of his expertise on his Lap Steel and then on Pedal Steel . His rendition of ‘Sleep Walk ‘ was off the planet ! It truely was a memorable gig in Far North Coburg . The crowd were gorgeous as usual and didn’t mind a bit when i stormed the stage and got to display some of my old school mic technique . Its such a joy to hear boys singing in sweet sweet harmony . They are my kind of ‘Boy Band’ .
THIS FRIDAY :
What can i say about Marshmallow Overcoat other than its SOLD OUT . It was a stroke of luck booking these guys . There i was shopping at the local Dan Mmm when this really happy employee came bouncing out of nowhere with the hippest haircut this side of an english oasis to offer me some suggestions about wine . One thing lead to another and 5 or 6 degrees of separation later I’d just snaffled Musical Royalty to come and play at the club and we hadn’t even opened yet ! eeeeek . This day has finally come for Ash Naylor (Even) Davey Lane (You Am i) and he of the hip haircut , Brett Wolfenden ( Murphy’s Hardware),to show why they own the 60s-70s rock throne.
PS : There’s word out that 15 extra tickets will be released on the day of the gig ,so if you missed getting a ticket, look out for that announcement from TMO on FB …
