LAST FRIDAY : Well the Putbacks proved they are the best FUNK band in the Universe. Its gotta be said , they are one of the tightest, sharpest, most dynamic musical units ever to exist. They PUT it all BACK where it belongs and had it sitting on the groove all night long . Up the stairs the music fans came to worship the grooves these guys were putting down and on the dance floor we were getting down . It was a funkadelic ,cinematic, dance floor romping joy ride . NEXT FRIDAY : THE MELTDOWN are coming to set our souls a flutter with their brand of Country Soul OR is it Soul Country or soulful RnB with a country flavour . Simon Burke is Melbourne’s answer to Dan Penn but with keyboard chops to boot . He’s the hammond player the singer and the songwriter and with a band of some of Melbourne’s finest musos . Thats Loretta Miller ( who opened the club on the 1st June all those months ago ) along with the gorgeous Darcy McNulty and their band of cracker musos . We will be going out with a Bang-ity-BANG ..
